Late 19th C. book-butler side table

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAEarly 20th century side table in tulip wood with bronze dore trimming on top and base. Two swivel book holders are positioned right under the octagonal cross banded veneer top. The design of the base shows an early attempt toward a linear style to keep up with artistic style changes. The octagonal top measures 21: across., the height is 31″. In excellent condition. Sormani  original  brass label is placed under the top. $1800.00

Picasso 1948 original album of ceramics.

ANDROMEDA-1381-262x300This album much sought by collectors and admirers of Pablo Picasso was assembled and composed by Suzanne and Georges Ramie in cooperation with the artist who specially composed the cover for it.  It was published in Switzerland by EDITIONS D’ART ALBERT SKIRA, GENEVA September 30 1948 and contains eighteen loose leaf photographic repruduction of Picasso most celebrated ceramics.  A loose leaf black and white photograph of the artist is also included. It measures  15″ X11.50″.  $185.00

Set of six American centennial dining chairs.

The set consists of two arm and four side centennial American Chinese Chippendale mahogany dining room chairs.  The arm chair measurements are: 39″ high, 24″ wide and 20″ deep.  The condition is excellent.  The  leather seats, which are protected by a cover of clear plastic could use some re-stuffing.  No sign of repair or refinishing is visible. $3600.00

Sculpted out of solid ivory the figures represent the effigy of  Emperor and Empress seated on a throne. Masterfully and meticulously executed to the most minute details. The  emperor measures 13″ in height while the Empress is slightly smaller. The addition of the 2  inch of the two rosewood bases form a total of 15 inch. $4500.00

The quadrilateral inkwell measures 4  inch at each side and stands 3.50 inch in eight.  The interior is formed by a fading fusion of  gray green and brown slag glass with  a gilt brass free form pattern of reeds and branches forming the encasing  reticulation.  The solid cover is also decorated in similar raised pattern of reeds. $1100.00
